Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday November 7th, 2016
The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:03 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – President: Dave Gilmour

Attendance (14 members):  Anne McDougall, Shirley Bell, Mike Hockley, Lillian Wainwright, Marta Nettelfield, Bev Pope, Cindy Thomas, Dave & Patti Gilmour, Doris Avery, Kim long, Mary Curl, Tammy Ranta, Bernice Langley

Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.

Minutes: 

Dave: I would like to call this meeting to order and start by people typing in their name for attendance. You don't need to do it again if you just typed in your name.

• Everyone should of had a chance to go through last month’s minutes. Are  there any errors or omissions?
• If not I would like to move the minutes be accepted as written.

Business Arising From the Minutes – None

Treasurer’s Report – Kim Long

• Kim:  Sept 2016 Balance - $14,421,67
•  Debit - s/c  $19.00,  $ 2.00 (paper statement). 
• October 31,2016. Balance $14,400.67
• Dave: Thx Kim . Are there any questions
• Marta: Do we have any large expenses coming up?  I'm curious as to why we have such a large balance?
• Dave: The national next year for one as there is a bunch of money that is set aside for the national but is still part of the bank balance
• Marta: Okay, thank you :)
• Dave: We will also putting some money towards some donations in the new year
• Dave:  If you would move your report Kim
• Anne: I will
• Lillian: still no bill from Kim for my trophies
• Kim: I move my report and Lillian I just sent you your bill
• Lillian: thank you --how was it sent
• Kim: Email
• Dave: Kim has to make the motion as it is her report
• Anne: do we go by Roberts rules
• Dave: We try to.
• Anne: if so I thought whoever gave the report could not move their own report
• Dave: Ok I will check into that. I have a set of them in the house.

• Dave: I may be also. Damn it's tough being human

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Show Committee 

• Mary: 2017 National -Judges Two have been nominated to date:  
• Joe Gregory & Ann Gilbert
• If you want to nominate anyone please do so before the next meeting when we will vote
• Also we need nominations for Sweepstakes judge
• You can nominate now or send to me and I will bring them up at the meeting

              
Publicity:  No report

• Dave: We do not have anyone for publicity right now so moving onto trophy committee         

Trophy Committee: Anne McDougall  

• Anne: nothing to report, do I have a budget

• Dave: Chat with Mary.

Programme:

• Lillian: a number of items posted to the list .. including one on posting ears

Membership: Doris Avery

• Doris:  No report, just a reminder that 2017 membership renewals are due by the end of December 2016.
• The 2017 Renewal form is up on the site now.

Discipline Committee: 

• Dave: Jenny is not here so we will move onto Obedience Marta

Obedience Committee:  Marta Nettelfield 

• Marta: No report.
• Lilliian: Marta -- recd 2 nice pics of a fawn uncropped at the Leonberger herding trials -- with the comment that the boxer aced the trial.. did not get an owner or dog name -- any clue whomight be trialing -- would like to send on the pics
• Marta: I have no idea who that was

Awards Committee: Mary, Shirley & Sandra -  No report

Fund Raising Committee: No Report

Reading of General Correspondence:  Cindy Thomas

• Cindy: Received an application to hold a BCC Regional Specialty (Specialty only) on August 19, 2017, in conjunction with the Manitoba Canine Association All Breed Shows from the Manitoba Boxer Club.

Good & Welfare:  Lillian Wainwright

• Lillian: Nothing to report

Old Business:  

• Mary: Just that if anyone has suggestions for making the 2017 National special and boosting entries please let me know
• Lillian: still working on a list of cropper vets for Ontario - have a couple of leads -- would appreciate more names

Before we adjourn I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to attend. Any ideas for next years national would be greatrly appreciated.
