Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday January 9, 2017
The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:04 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – President: Dave Gilmour

Attendance ( 17 members): Cindy Thomas, Dave & Patti Gilmour, Paul and Judy Wilcox, Doris Avery, Shawn Mealey, Kimberly Smith, Karen Parton, Mike Hockley, Mary Curl, Francine Gillanders, Lee and Mary Jane Nowak, Deanne Sinnott Williams, Lillian Wainwright, Kirstan Sonnenberg

Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.

Minutes: 

Dave: I would like to call the meeting to order. If we[/u] could start things off by everyone typing in their name for roll call.

• Thanks for taking the time out of your schedules to attend tonight's meeting
• Everyone should of had lots of time to read last meetings minutes. Are there any errors or omissions?

Mary: Correction: The last minutes stated that the next meeting would be Jan 2nd.  That was corrected to tonight Jan 9th by notices to the Yahoo List and FaceBook..

Dave: I would move the minutes be accepted with the correction in place. Seconded by: Shawn Mealey

Business Arising From the Minutes – None

Treasurer’s Report – Kim Long

• Kim:  November 30, 2016, Balance  $14,389.59
• Debit - s/c  $19.00,  $ 2.00 (paper statement). 
• Credit:  nil
• December 31, 2016. Balance $14,368.59

 COMMITTEE REPORTS

Show Committee 

• Mary: 2017 National -Judge - Ann Gilbert, Sweeps Keith Lawson  Anne has offered to be Show Chair with the help of the committee. Judges have been contacted and accepted

Publicity:  No report

• Dave: We have no one for publicity at this time so moving on to trophies.  

Trophy Committee: Anne McDougall - Not in attendance

Programme:

• Lillian: have posted items 2 list -- have recd some thank yous from members on someof the items

Membership: Doris Avery

• Doris:  member Renewals Past Due, “ any renewing now must pay the $10 late fee. If the Renewal Form and fine/penalty are not received by the Treasurer by January 31st, the membership will be considered lapsed and the member must re-apply to join the Club. Members joining the Club at or after the September meeting, and who have paid the required dues for the current year, will be considered paid up members for the upcoming year
• I will also send an email reminder to the members

Discipline Committee: 

• Jenny: no cases at this time.

Obedience Committee:  Marta Nettelfield  - Not in attendance

Awards Committee: Mary, Shirley & Sandra

• Mary: Apparently the CKC is up to date on titles so I will take a look as soon as I can to start getting the Annual Awards and Title Holder Awards happening.   Please send your info for titles and awards to Mary Shirley & Sandra.  applications for same are on the bcc website - click on the AWARDS link to find them.

Fund Raising Committee:

• Dave: Debbie is not here tonight and Patti has nothing to report right now so moving onto general correspondence.t

Reading of General Correspondence:  Cindy Thomas

• Cindy: Nothing to report.

Good & Welfare:  Lillian Wainwright

• Mary: Anne McDougall is going in for a knee replacement tomorrow
• Dave: Hopefully all goes well. I also hear Shirley is going in for a hip replacement within the month.
• Mary: March I think unless there is a cancellation
• Lillian: just  a number of items sent to the list including a lady on the east coast being charged for docking tails
• Dave: Thx Lillian. It is too bad things have come to this in the dog world
• Lillian: G&W -- anything else..please send to me... let me know when Shirley goes for the hip  ..have had both hips and left knee done
