Director Reports
AGM Report, Jun 2017
Patti Gilmour -- BCC Saskatchewan Director

Before I start in on my director’s report, I want to say that the late Irene Waddell of Bracara Boxers held the position of Saskatchewan Regional Director for the BCC for many, many years. It will be a challenge to fill her shoes in this position so please bear with me as I learn what is expected. Irene’s passion for boxers spanned over 50 years as she, her husband Len, and their kennel partner Isabel Levers were always the go-to folks for ear-taping, handling classes, advice, mentoring and club support. Sadly, the end of an era is near.
There are just a few club members that remain in Saskatchewan, and I would like to acknowledge them: Len Waddell – life member, Doris Avery, Allison Hadaway, and of course myself and Dave – life members.
Doris and her husband Dennis have a new male puppy after being boxerless for 2 years. Doris is back in the show ring, handling “Vader” herself … or is it, Vader handling Doris … LOL? Vader is out of the Avery’s Chevy who lived to be 13. He was Canadian Champion Shadowdale Like a Rock SOM, bred by Mary Curl. Happy to say that Vader is pointed and well on his way to getting his championship! (Thank you Doris for your club work as the BCC Membership Chair.)
Allison Hadaway and her daughters Sam and Mackenna have certainly been busy, busy as Allison kindly provided me with the following points:
 “Well I have one new champion this year. At 8 months old ch TKO n Firefly's Stars of the Phoenix. Finished at the Alberta Boxer Specialty in Red Deer with 2, 5 point majors and BPISS. He is out of TKO's Izzy's Little Miss Fancy by Twinkle Star V. Eurozone

 Both Sam and Mackenna qualified for Junior Provincials this year. Mackenna was not able to participate due to recent surgery and Sam participated in her last completion as she is now aged out.

 Sam also put canine good neighbor titles on both Piper (Ch Bendis Wish Upon a Star) and Jack (Ch Tybrushes You Don't Know Jack)

 Piper spent 4 months in Toronto being Mackenna's Therapy dog why she underwent a few surgeries and physio therapy. The two frequented Toronto's Sick Kids Hospital. Piper is both child and adult certified therapy dog.”

Dave and I have a new plain brindle female puppy. We took her with us to the American Boxer Club Specialty and she was entered in the 6 – 9 brindle puppy bitch class. This was her very first show and we were so pleased that she actually ran in a straight line for her miracle worker handler. As always, the ABC was a fun time … almost as much fun as the trip we had this March to Crufts and then The Boxer Event. We had a great time and met some really nice people but WOW, what a difference in boxers. Still can’t get over those tails! (The end, pardon the pun.)
