Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday March 7th, 2017
The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:01 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – Recording secretary - Mary Curl
Attendance ( 18 members): Kim Long, Michael & Jenny Catton, Jack Bujold, Melissa & Mark Mathers, Bernice Langley, Mary Curl, Michael Hockley, Doris Avery, Cindy Thomas, Lillian Wainwright, Marta Nettelfield, Leah Quiring, Adina Black, Francine Gillanders, Kimberly Smith, Deanne Sinnott Williams
Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.
Minutes:
Mary: As Dave is en-route to England and Shirley has just returned home from her surgery Dave has asked me to chair the meeting
- I would like to call the meeting to order and if we can start with everyone typing in their names for attendance.

Treasurer’s Report – Kim Long

- Out: $19.00 S/C, $2.00 Paper Statement, $78.75 CKC Club Renewal, $340.00 BFL Canada Risk & Insurance Services Ltd.

- Lillian: Kim - please check around .. the cheque I sent you has not cleared my bank it will soon be stale dated

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Show Committee Anne, Mary, Shirley, Patti, Dave
- Mary: If you didn't already know there will be two other Boxer Specialties at the same venue with the National this year. and I have seen pictures of the prizes - you will like them :)
Publicity: No report
Trophy Committee: Anne McDougall - Not in attendance
- Mary: Anne is not here but I think she has done well regarding trophies
Programme:
- Lillian: sent a number of items to the list, esp good ones on health
Membership: Doris Avery
- Doris: Jeanette and Shelby Short completed their Probationary status in February and are now Ordinary Members of the BCC. Tracy Bezanson has also completed her Probationary status and is an Ordinary BCC member. Welcome to the club!
Discipline Committee:
- Mike: No discipline matters..
Obedience Committee: Marta Nettelfield
Awards Committee: Mary, Shirley & Sandra
- Mary: Please send your info for titles and awards before March 30th to Mary Shirley & Sandra. applications for same are on the bcc website - click on the AWARDS link to find them. I am working on a list from the CKc but I still need the input of the owners for the awards
Special Service Award Committee: Debbi Allardyce (Not in attendance)
- Mary: I have heard nothing regarding Special Service Award and Debbie is not here
Fund Raising Committee: Patti (not in attendance)
Reading of General Correspondence: Cindy Thomas
- Cindy: Received a letter from CKC approving event for BCC Regional Specialty in St. Paul, Manitoba, on August 19, 2017, as well as a letter approving the judging panel for this Specialty. Received a letter from CKC approving event for BCC National Specialty & Sweepstakes in Orillia, Ontario, on August 6, 2017.
Good & Welfare: Lillian Wainwright
- Lillian: G&W -- sent get well card to Anne, will send one to Shrley
Old Business:
- Winner of the draw for members attending meetings for 2016 is Cindy Thomas
- Leah Quiring: I have a question with regard to the February minutes re: IPO letter of support. Wondering if a letter was sent.
- Cindy: Yes it has.
- Leah Quiring: Thank you.
- Mary: Has there been any response from them?
- Lillian: a response from them?
- Cindy: Yes here is the response:
- Hi Cindy, thank you, this is great news to have the BCC on board. I will keep you updated when we go to the next step of the project, after we receive the letters from the last 2 clubs: the Doberman Pinscher Club of Canada and the Giant Schnauzer Canada club. Talk to you soon, Anthony Hartelaub

- Mary: Nominations for President & corresponding Secretary will be taken until the end of the month
