Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday May 1st, 2017
The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:05 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – President Dave Gilmour

Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.

Minutes: 

Dave: Everyone should of had a chance to read last month's minutes. Are there any errors or omissions?

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Show Committee  Anne, Mary, Shirley, Patti, Dave

• Mary: Working on several things for the National.  Armband Draw - we will draw two numbers for a $100 prepaid Visa each.   50/50 draw - all the proceeds will go to Boxer Rescue Canada.  BBQ on Saturday evening for boxer folks - Join us and you will be entered in a draw for some exiting prizes.

Publicity:  No report

Trophy Committee: Anne McDougall - Not in attendance

• Mary: BCC trophies are all done thanks for the help Shawn, couldn't have done it without you., just a few things left to get. I have some item donations  that I will give to Mary  to use as the fund raisers see fit.
• Dave: Thx Mary I saw the trophies and they are quite nice.

Programme:

• Lillian: Program --a number of items  posted  to the list .

• Doris:  Adina Black and Deanne Williams have both completed their Probationary Memberships and are now Ordinary members of the BCC. Welcome!

Discipline Committee: 

• Jenny: No report.

Obedience Committee:  Marta Nettelfield 

• No Report

Awards Committee: Mary, Shirley & Sandra

• Mary: Awards & title holder info has all gone to Mike to make the plaques.  They will be available at the National and for those who are not there they will be shipped after that

Fund Raising Committee:  Patti (not in attendance)

Reading of General Correspondence:  Cindy Thomas

• Cindy: Nothing other than that possible date change for Monika's application. I didn't have a chance to check the date on it yet though.

Good & Welfare:  Lillian Wainwright

• Lillian: G&W  -- sent get well card to Shirley,

Old Business:  

• Mary: I need you Dave and a couple of others to set a time and date to test out the non Java versions of the chat so hopefully we can move over to it if it seems suitable
• Dave: Will set something up after back from ABC
• Cindy: I will volunteer with that since I can test it at my work!
• Doris: I can help too if needed
• Mellissa: Has anyone given the dates/info on the national to 'In The Know' and Boxer Daily?
• Mary: Not me.  The info is on the website if you would like to pass it on Mellissa
• Mellissa: Will do.
• Dave: I don't think they have I was going to talk to Carolyn at ABC
• Mary: Do we need to take out an ad?
• Dave: I was actually looking into that already
• Mary: Would flyers to have at ABC be useful?
• Cindy says: I would send flyers.
• Discussion on flyers held - Mary will make flyers and send to Dave to print..
• Cindy: There were no other applications for the 30 days after Monika's application for the Renaissance Dog Association to hold a BCC Regional Specialty, Sweepstakes, Obedience & Rally Trials so it should be approved.

New Business:

• Dave: Moving onto new business. It is something I have been dealing with in the background for a few months now
• We received an email from a lady named Inge Coulter from BC after she was referred to us from the CKC. She is upset with us because we refuse to change our standard to deal differently with undocked tails. We state the tail be docked. We do not state it must be docked and we do not state it anywhere that it is a fault.
  
  She has been harassing me to the point that I blocked her emails. So at that point she wrote a letter to the CKC which was dealt with in a BOD meetings. They Found that it had no merit
  .
• Mellissa: Is she a breeder? Exhibitor? CKC or boxer club member?
• Dave: I think she is a CKC member. She breeds some. She is not a boxer club member.
• Marta: She is crazy
• Mary: She sent me an email telling me that she was putting in a protest to the CKC about Dave. I'm glad it was dealt with
• Dave: I know she has had run ins with other boxer people with the same end results. Mary was even contacted saying that I was privately harassing Mary and being mean to a BCC member which she would not divulge. She says that we are ruining the breed and effecting their ability to do performance events because we dock their tales
• Marta: We (rescue) had a run in with her years ago, when I still lived in BC so it had to be the late 90s.  I can't even remember the details, but she was over the top insane.
• Dave: She goes onto saying that they can't even interact properly in the whelping box because they have no tails
• Mary: I find it interesting that her website shows pictures of several docked and cropped Boxers
• Dave: I am waiting to see what happens next but if this keeps up I will probably have to get a lawyer involved
• Mary: I kept the email in case
• Christine: Is she taking issue with you as a person, CKC director or the BCC in general
• Dave: A little bit of all three
• Christine: CKC I am sure could provide legal advise.  I am sure they deal with many individuals that are way out there
• Dave: I have been talking with their legal department already. For the most part I think she is going after me because I dealt with this as the President of the club.
• Dave: We will just have to wait and see how this plays.
• Doris: I received an email from a man who found a camera on April 14th.  He said there were lots of Boxer photos on it and was wondering if one of our members lost it?  He was from the Hamilton Cycling Club. If anyone has lost it let me know, I have his contact info.
• Leah: I got the same call as Doris today. I sent an email out to the BCWO club members.

Dave: Couple of quick announcements.

• The first is safe travels and good luck to everyone going to ABC and
• secondly I would like to get everyone together for a Canadian photo on Wednesday so pass the word along and i will arrange a time
