Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday Sept 11, 2017
The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:00 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – Vice President Shirley Bell

Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.

Minutes: 

Shirley: Welcome aboard everyone.  Good to see you here.  Could you all sign in with you Name so we can do roll call.

I have the sad duty of letting members know of the passing of Donna Squires.  Donna and her husband Doug were long time BCC members. And life members of Boxer Club of Western Ontario.

Their kennel name was ChardePado. Doug and Donna produced some lovely Boxers back in the 70's 80's and 90's.

There will be visitation at the Donohue Funeral Home in London Ontario on Tuesday Evening from 6 to 8 pm. Their time in Boxers go back to the De Boers, Whitmore's and McNair area.

• Shirley:  .....Kim is not here.  We have no report.

*Secretary's NOTE*:  I spoke to Kim and she has been very ill.  She will try to get us a report and I will add it in as an addendum later

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Show Committee  Anne, Mary, Shirley, Patti, Dave

• Mary: The National Specialty went well,  the trophies & prizes were great and the gift bags went over well as did the BBQ
• The group photo is up on the website
• Shirley: Must mention that Dogs in Design donated the group photo and the oldest Boxer presentation photo.
• Bags give to everyone were awesome.

Publicity:  No report

Trophy Committee:

• Shirley: Shawn Mealy has volunteered to take over trophies.  She has been Anne McDougall's helper this past year.

Programme:

• Lillian: --number of items posted to the list
• the item on health problems should be read by all

                                                      
Membership: Doris Avery

• Doris:  Welcome to Karen Broadway and Yves Leroux who will both be starting their Probationary Memberships this month.  Also, Jack Bujold and Winnie Kluck have completed their Probationary Memberships and are now Ordinary Members of the Boxer Club of Canada.
• Shirley: Welcome to new members.  I am sure they will be a benefit to the club! Thanks Doris   

Discipline Committee: 

• Shirley: New committee appointed by the executive.
• Shirley Bell will chair the committee along with members Debbie Allardyce and Josie O'Reiley
• Complaint previously brought to the Dave's attention is being looked at and will info will be brought back to the executive shortly.

Obedience Committee:  Marta Nettelfield 

• No Report

Awards Committee: Mary, Shirley & Sandra

• Mary: I have one annual award left to send out - will do so as soon as I can
• I have put the list up on the website
• Shirley: Good....was nice to see all the awards handed out at the BBQ.

• Special Service Award Committee: Debbi Allardyce (Not in attendance)

Fund Raising Committee:  Patti

• No Report

Reading of General Correspondence:  Cindy Thomas

• Cindy: Nothing to report

Good & Welfare:  Lillian Wainwright

• Lillian: get well cards sent to Kim & Rod Norris
• Shirley: Good Thank you Lillian. Both on the road to recovery.

Old Business:  

• Christine: This new method of logging on the meeting is great.  Could not attend the last 3 meetings as I was unable to get on-line
• Shirley: Thank Mary she has worked hard at getting the new chat room set up
• Richard: Just wondering if there is any eta for the updating of the BCC website
• Mary: Which updates Rick
• Richard: The executives page
• Shirley: Mary will you look into the executives page?
• Richard: Many chairs have been changed or in the process of changing since last update
• Mary: What updates are needed there richard?  This chatroom has taken precidence and I can stillonly be on the computer a certain amount of time right now
• Shirley: I haven't looked at it so couldn't tell you if it is up to date or not.  Mary will do it now that she has done all the work setting up the chat room.
• Cindy: Maybe Richard can send a list of which areas need to be updated to Mary by email to make her job easier?
• Shirley: That would be helpful thanks Cindy
• Richard: I understand, the only reason I bring it up is it has been asked about in other meetings...I believe a number of regional directors have been changed
• Shirley: Any thing else?  Marta I have a note here about an annual Versatility Award?
• Mary: Just that I still need to discuss that award with Marta
• Marta: working on that
• Shirley: Oh Ok....jumping th gun here.  sorry

• Shirley: A word from me........Huge Thank yous go to those who worked so hard to put on a successful weekend of Specialties at the Barrie Shows.....special thanks to Mary and her family for the wonderful cooks and all that went with it.  Everyone pulled together to make it a great weekend.
• Mary: Also a thank you to Grant & Mark for all the help moving things and helping to set things up
• Shirley: We are all saving our $$ to head west for the next BCC National.

New Business:

• Mary: Is everyone here satisfied with this new chatroom?  I have to renew our subscription shortly. There are more features but I am still figuring them out
• Cindy: Yes
• Shirley: I like it and figured out how to get on on my tablet and phone.
• Jenny: Yes
• Richard: The new chat room is a huge improvement!
• Marta: I will be when I can get in via my desktop :-)
• Doris: Yes
• Mary: Those that signed in as guests should sign in with their own account next time - the instructions are on the website
• Shirley: Much easier and great written instructions Mary
• Mary: Thank you
• Lillian: there will be new clear guidelines for Dam of year going forward

• Shirley: If there is nothing else.....before we adjourn, let's have a brag session.....Westerners start first.

Shirley: If everyone is done chatting, we will need a motion for adjournment, but feel free to stay and chat afterwards if you want.
