Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday April 2nd, 2018

The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:04 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. –  President Dave Gilmour

Attendance: (19 Members)  Dave & Patti Gilmour, Doris Avery, Karen Parton, Christine Burton, Mike Hockley, Lee and Mary Jane Nowak, Marta Nettelfiled, Shirley Bell, Mary Curl, Jenny & Michael Catton, Francine Gillanders, Cindy Thomas, Keith Lawson, Melissa & Mark Mathers, Tammy Ranta

Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.

Minutes: 

Dave: Good evening everyone I would like to call this meeting to order. I would like to start the meeting off by having everyone type in their name for attendance.

* SECRETARY'S NOTE: AGAIN There were some issues at this meeting where some members could not see others but when the log came in it was complete*

I put in a ticket to the AddonInteractive people but haven't heard anything back yet. I checked their fb page and...  they haven't posted since 2015 AND there are tons of complaints. UP UNTIL LAST MONTH WE HAVE NOT HAD THESE ISSUES.

We will probably have to find another forum so if any of you have ideas let me know. BTW it is not feasible to use fb messenger as I would have to copy & paste every statement said in the meeting for the log...

• Dave: Everyone should of had lots of time to review last meetings minutes. Is there any errors or omissions.?

• Credit – S/C 19.00, Paper Statement - $2.00, Alberta Kennel Club - $258.20 (National Trophy Fund), Kim Long - $134.89 (back up external hard drive, stamps and folders), Shirley Bell - $175.15 (BCCI Judges Pamphlets)

Awards Committee: Mary, Shirley & Marta

• Mary: Awards have been processed and will be announced soon.  Performance plaques & plates (12 recipients) and VB medallions (6 recipients) will be given out at the BCC National in Alberta.
• Conformation plaques or certificates (18 recipients) If you will be going to the National and wish to pick up your plaques there let me know ASAP and I can have them sent on with the others that are going there. That can also apply for SOM, DOM and Annual Awards
• I want to thank new awards committee member Marta Nettlefield for all the help.

• Patti: Items were generously donated to the club from Eve Whitmore's estate. Thanks to Winnie Kluck for picking up these items.

• Doris: Nomination Report:
• For Executive Positions the following will let their names stand this year:  Vice President - Shirley Bell, Recording Secretary - Mary Curl, Treasurer - Kim Long.
• For Regional Directors the following also are willing to let their names stand:  Saskatchewan - Patti Gilmour, New Brunswick and PEI - Kim Long, Ontario West - Melissa Mathers, Atlantic - Deanne Sinnot Williams, Alberta - Marta Nettlefield, BC Southwest - Cora Verhulst, Ontario East - Richard Tarrington, Ontario North - Shawn Mealey and Manitoba - Bev Pope. 
• Normand Houde has been nominated for Quebec by Deborah Allerdyce.

• Dave: As Lillian is not here we will move on to new business

Old Business:  

• Mary: As no other requests the app for BCC Regional with Oakville & Dist KC at Ancaster Sat Sept 8 2018 would be approved

New Business:

• Shirley: I want to let members know that the Judges Education PowerPoint presentation has been revised and updated and will be available online thanks to Mary following presentation this weekend at South Eastern Ontario Judges study group.

• Dave: If there is no other new business i would like to move this meeting be adjourned.  Seconded by Jenny.
