Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday January 8th, 2017
The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:00 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. –  President Dave Gilmour

Attendance: (11 Members)  Dave & Patti Gilmour, Melissa & Mark Mathers, Keith Lawson, Marta Nettelfield, Cindy Thomas, Paul and Judy Wilcox, Mary Curl, Mike Hockley

Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.

Minutes: 

Dave: I'd like to call this meeting to order. Can everyone type in for attendance.

• I would like to start by welcoming Keith to his first meeting.
• I assume everyone has had a chance to review last month's minutes. Is there any errors or omissions ?
  

Dave: I would like to move the minutes be adopted as written. Seconded by Cindy Thomas
Dave: Is there any business arising from the minutes? - None

Treasurer’s Report – Kim Long, not in attendance

• Dave:  Mary do you have a treasurer's report from Kim.
• Mary: No and I don't see her on-line

Secretary NOTE:  Kim sent me the report after the meeting as below:

• Kim:
• November 30, 2017: Balance - $7599.62
• Credit – S/C - $19.00, CKC Renewal - $78.74, BFL Canada (Insurance) - $341.95
• Debit – Membership - $170.00, Pay Pal Membership Renewal - $330.00
• December 31,2017: Balance - $7659.93

Membership: Doris Avery - not in attendance

• Dave: Doris won't be able to attend but said she has nothing new to report this month.
• Mary: Reminder: Members whose fees have not been received by January 1st shall be considered Non-Active Members and must pay a fine/penalty of $10.00 and complete the Renewal form in order to become an Active Member...
• The Renewal form must be received by the Treasurer no later than Jan 31st of the incoming year.
• If the Renewal Form and fine/penalty are not received by the Treasurer by January 31st, the membership will be considered lapsed and the member must re-apply to join the Club.
• Paul: We didn't pay our dues as i believe we are life members this year

• Mary: Reminder to all to please send info on your new titles etc.  to us at awards@boxerclubofcanada.com The task of looking all the titles for members has become very time consuming. It helps tremendously if members notify us so that I don't have to research through every months files on the CKC site.

• Mary: March 30th but sooner is better :)

Reading of General Correspondence:  Cindy Thomas

• Cindy: I received an update from Anthony Hartelaub with the Canadian All Breed IPO Working Dog Project Group. Here is what he wrote:

Hi Cindy,

I hope you had good holidays and that 2018 will bring all the best to you and your family.

I wanted to give you an update on the progress of the Canadian Working Dog Federation (CWDF) project. It's been a long process, where we gathered all breed clubs support, including the main IPO breed club that is the German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada.

We then had some communications with the CKC (Ms Weiss), and things are looking good, but because some of the support letters date from 2016, the CKC will need a newer consent from its breed clubs to allow the CWDF to represent Canada at this year's FCI IPO World Championship, so the Boxer Club of Canada Inc may get contacted by Ms Weiss soon about it.

Once these consents from the breed clubs are obtained by the CKC, and the CWDF will be able to operate.

As the delegate of the Boxer breed on the CWDF General Board of Directors, you will be kept informed as the CWDF foundation is put in place, and possibly asked to participate in some meetings and vote on some items.
