Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday June 4th, 2018

The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:06 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – President Dave Gilmour

Attendance: (20 Members) Cindy Thomas, Dave & Patti Gilmour, Tammy Ranta, Francine Gillanders, Doris Avery, Michael Hockley, Karen Parton, Mary Curl, Mark & Melissa Mathers, Karen Broadway & Yves Leroux , Anne McDougall, Shirley Bell, Tracy Bezanson, Jenny & Michael Catton, Paul & Judy Wilcox

Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.

Minutes:

Dave: I would like to open tonights meeting with a thanks for taking the time out to attend. I f you could please sign in with your name for attendance
Dave: Everyone should of had time to review last months minutes. Was there any errors or omissions

Dave: It looks like the premium list is up for the National in Alberta for anyone interested. The judge is Tim Hutchings and sweepstakes are done by Linda Abel/
Mary: I have nothing else to report for Show Committee

Dave: It looks like most of our committee heads are not here tonight so not much to discuss.

Publicity: No Report

Trophy Committee: Shawn (not in attendance)

Mary: The list of Perpetual trophies was sent to Mike and he will send them to the Alberta club holding the National along with the VB awards.

Programme: Lillian - (not in attendance) - No report

Membership Committee: Doris

Doris: No report

Discipline Committee: Shirley Bell

No report

Obedience Committee: Marta Nettelfield

Marta: No report

Awards Committee: Mary, Shirley & Marta

Mary: List of Annual Awards winner will be given at AGM. All awards & title holder lists have been sent to Mike to be done. Certificates have been sent to all who requested them

Special Service Award Committee: Debbi Allardyce - not in attendance

Fund Raising Committee: Patti -

Patti: No Report

Nomination committee: Debbie - not in attendance

Dave: Sorry forgot to remove from agenda as elections are done

Anne: missed the elections dave, did everyone just keep their position
Dave: Yes and we have a new director for Quebec
Mary: I will post in the AGM

Reading of General Correspondence: Cindy Thomas

Cindy: None
Dave: I will add something to general correspondence. Both Cindy and I have received emails from Inge Coulter. We may have to get a lawyer involved at some point to draft a cease and desist letter

Mary: This is the second time I believe.
Dave: At least. Cindy do you have that message handy?
Cindy: Yes. Do you want me to post it here?
Dave: I will. This is the latest one.

Letter:

Hello Boxer Club of Canada,

The Boxer Club of Canada has become a Boxer Rescue Operation
Pretty pictures will not keep the Canadian Boxer alive. A self-inflicted wound! You missed the boat over three decades ago.
The whole world is waiting for the Canadian Boxer Pedigrees you are hiding. Your exercise is useless. We can estimate the boxers that will be ?taken away too soon? ?
to quote your own words. The few surviving boxers left in Canada will be carriers. Ever heard of recessive genes?
Stop breeding. Remove the carrier lines. Dump your future puppies, from champions and others, unless you the breeders have the courage to hang on to them and watch their premature death.
Nobody will give you an import in the future. The world knows that you chop off tails and splice ears, and then post ? loved by So and So?.

Michael Hockley	Is this writer concerned about a genetic fault, or just about the ear cropping and tail docking?
David Gilmour	She has been a thorn in CKC's side as well for many years

Shirley Bell	She has been on my case for years to. I now ignore her

Tracy Bezanson	is it just letter writing? cant she just be blocked?
Michael Hockley	Is the CKC concerned with her at all? Or can WE just ignore her?
David Gilmour	I think that is the next step before the lawyer.
Mark & Melissa Mathers	Have we responded to her nonsense before?
Shirley Bell	Yes years ago. It continued to get worse then stopped for years
David Gilmour	I tried to deal with her nicely before and she filed a complaint with the CKC because I was a poor director and am not looking after the welfare of our breed in Canada as the president of the club.
David Gilmour	The board of directors thought she was joking
Karen Broadway & Yves Leroux	In my experience they are best ignored. Responding to them fuels the fire. You can’t fix stupid nor reason with the insane.
David Gilmour	I have not replied to her since my first interactions with her

From Lillian after meeting: sorry I missed the meeting - conflict of meetings with another that I had to attend for the program -- please note that a number of items have been posted to the members list ... including 2 very good items on health issues

please make a note that if I don't get the info for G&W I cannot send out cards, etc... not a mind reader

Jenny: Michael wants to thank everyone for the lovely card he received after surgery
