- Dave: That would explain the returned mail
- Mary: I don't think she has actually "sponsored" it for a few years
- Mary: Can I make a motion that the Winners dog Perpetual Trophy be put up for a new sponsor? We can post something in the minutes and on the yahoo list soliciting a new sponsor

- Mary: OK I move that the Winners dog Perpetual Trophy be put up for a new sponsor. Seconded by Anne

Betty was known for her breeding both here in Canada, U.S. South Africa, she stopped breeding early in 2000. She was always available to answer questions regarding health in Boxers. This Sunday the family are holding a “Time to Remember” for Betty. I will be there and I will remember. Bernice L.
Old Business:
New Business:
- Anne: one thing I want to bring up and maybe Dave should know. I have all the old records from years and years of the BCC records and pedigrees etc. The Rouses gave these to me when they donated some of their stuff and I have absolutely no clue to what to do with it. there are 3 options, 1.. would be to pay a company to put it all on CD's. 2 . would be to see if anyone wants to store it(I don't) and 3 would be to destroy it. maybe someone has a 4th option.
- Dave: I will get hold of you later this week to chat about it Anne
- Sheila: I would like to ask people's thoughts on Regional specialties that some have held them year after year and i get that they want to boost numbers but when you only get 4 dogs and then the winner is a BCC Regional Specialty winner it seems very few numbers,
- Shirley: I personally think overall numbers are down because there is nothing special about specialties these days...way too many of them
- Sheila: What I am saying is that several people have mentioned to me that these specialties are held year after year and really are not seen in a good light when there are consistently very few dogs, is there not a set number that a specialty should uphold to be granted a regional year after year?
- Mary: That is something to consider Sheila, Perhaps the executive should talk this over and get back to the club with ideas and thoughts on it at another meeting.
- Christine: Oakville club held regional this past weekend with very good entry. 9 specials, 1 bred by 1 open dog and 4 baby puppies Gloria posted results
- Dave: Thx Christine. That was a nice turnout
- Sheila: In talking with a few people, it was suggested that a minimum of 10 dog be entered to grant another regional the following year by the same club.
- Mary: Not a bad suggestion
- Sheila: When there is less than 10 I think they should have to have a plan to increase numbers or not hold the regional. We held the National and had over 64 dogs entered, i understand entries are down but the value of a regional specialty can be diminished if the numbers remain low.
- Dave: You wants us to tell someone they can't have a regional specialty because they have an area where the numbers are low right now
- Sheila: I am not saying once but year after year after year the numbers have been very low. many believe it takes away from the prestige of a BCC specialty if there are only 4 dogs. I am mainly being the messenger of a discussion of people. I agree with them, but felt it should be addressed
- Dave: I think whatever area you are referring to is at least trying to do something
- Shirley: I think more discussion is needed on this issue. Specialties should be special. There are supported entry/boosters that may help increase entries. Very costly for clubs to put on Regionals with low entry. Judges, ribbons etc.
- Mary: I agree with Shirley but that being said I think any member that wants to give suggestions should send them to the executive so we can discuss it further then bring back to the members
- Dave: I agree that we need to look at alternatives. Si if people have any ideas to fix this than contact the executive. We look forward to any suggestions.
- Anne: it would help if members supported the entries more. LLots of members who do not attend either national and regional.
Dave: Is There any other new business?
Dave: If there is no more new business then I move the meeting be adjourned.
Tammy: Second
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
