- Jenny/Mike: Thanks for the card, Lillian, it is appreciated
- Dave: Tell Mike we will have to have a race next time we see each other LOL
- Jenny: Yes, now he has 2 good knees- once all healing and physio is done. He can’t run too fast with the rollator
New Business:
- Lillian: has anyone else rec'd a survey & request for funds from PETA?
- Shirley: Yes, I got the envelope from Peta....sent it back return to sender
- Lillian: the survey was slanted so the answers were that you agreed with them ... and the request was really heavy handed
- Deanne Sinnott: I'm listed as the Atlantic director on the bcc website, was nominated by Melissa Mathers and accepted last year, or possibly the year before. Is there an outline of what this position entails?
- Doris: Yes, its on the BCC website. I think in the Constitution.
- Mellissa/Mark: Are we as a club doing anything regarding the dock/dews/tail ban in Alberta?
- Dave: What do you suggest as it is a done deal as far as the vets are concerned
- Mellissa: The Dobe club and another at least have put out statements. In Ont. we are trying to work with the vet association. It would seem important as a club with a cropped/docked breed we put things out there educating and speaking out against these bans
- Dave: Would you like to prime this Melissa?
- Kim: Melissa I was told that it is the vet association that makes their own rules and once ruled upon they wont even read your letters. The say it is their association and can make their own rules
- Mary: We need a new publicity person
- Mellissa: Sure. Can we chat later on details?
- Mary: I can send you the letter we sent before if you like
- Dave: Absolutely. Is there any one else that would like to help Melissa
- Dave: The CKC was even directly involved with the talks with the AVMA. They listened then went ahead and did what they wanted
Dave: If there is nothing else, I would like to move this meeting be adjourned.
Mellissa: 2nd
Meeting adjourned at 8:43 p.m.
NEXT Regular MEETING: Monday May 13, 2019 - 8 p.m. Ontario time
(so as not to interfere with the ABC National)
