Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday September 9th 2019
The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:08 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – President Dave Gilmour
Attendance: (8 members) Karen Parton, Dave & Patti Gilmour, Christine Burton, Lillian Wainwright, Mary Curl, Jenny & Micheal Catton
Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.

Dave: I would like to call this meeting to order. If we could start things off by typing in our names for attendance
Dave: Everyone should of had a chance to read the minutes. Is there any errors or omissions? If not I move the minutes be adopted as written. 2nd by Jenny.
Treasurer’s Report – Kim
- Mary: As Kim has had a fall and cannot attend tonight, she sent me the report

- Mary: The National Specialty went well. The results are up on the BCC website.
Publicity: No Report
Trophy Committee: Shawn Mealey - not in attendance
Programme: Lillian Wainwright
- Lillian: number of items posted to the list... have found some of the health items enlightening, also would like to warn the club that PETA are sending out requests for funds ... again....
Membership Committee: Doris not in attendance
- Dave: Doris could not make the meeting she had nothing new other than New Member Application from Terri Pickett of Dawson Creek, BC.
Discipline Committee: Shirley Bell not in attendance
Obedience Committee: Marta Nettelfield not in attendance
Awards Committee: Mary, Shirley, Marta, Cindy
- Mary: Everyone should have received their plaques & certificates. I already have one application for the next bunch
Special Service Award Committee: Debbie Allardyce - not in attendance
Fund Raising Committee: Patti
Judges Education Committee: Shirley, Mary Dave
- Mary & Shirley: Report on trip to Cornwall - St Lawrence Seaway Judges Education Group - It went well with quite a few judges there who asked questions and had things clarified for them.
- We have an Upcoming presentation in London, Ontario October 6 to Boxer Club of Western Ontario
- We are Trying to get more judges educated on our breed and make it known that we are willing to attend their groups to present to them.

Reading of General Correspondence: (Added after meeting)
- Mary: From CKC - Letter of approval for the Boxer Club of Canada to hold events in April 2020 and Letter of approval for the Boxer Club of Canada’s Specialty Conformation Show Judging panel. (Renaissance Dog Association to host the BCC National Specialty in Chilliwack, BC, on April 11, 2020)
Old Business:
- Dave: Nominations committee: From last meeting: STILL NEED ONE! Corresponding Secretary????
- Anyone interested We still need a Corresponding Secretary to take over come September:
- The duties of the Corresponding Secretary shall be to handle all day-to-day correspondence of The Club and to assist the Recording Secretary as necessary.
- If anyone has any ideas please let anyone on the executive know.
Good & welfare: Lillian
- Mary: Anne McDougall has been in the hospital but is home now recovering
- Dave: Also need to send cards out to Judy Wilcox and Jack Ireland
- Lillian: will send out 3 get well cards when I get to town, Also have sent out sympathy cards to the Herd family, and the Langley family.
New Business:
Dave: Does anyone have any new business?
- Lillian: Good news - Caroline Holicka won the Governor General award for the highest marks in her graduating class of over 400 students
- Jenny: Way to go Caroline. Can we send her a congratulatory card form the bcc? This is a huge award
- Dave: Could you arrange that Lillian?
- Lillian: I will deliver one to her... she is attending McMaster in pre-med. Her year end mark was 98.5
Dave: Thx Lillian. If no one has any other new business I would like to thank everyone for attending and move this meeting be adjourned
