Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday April 6th, 2020

The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:02 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – President David Gilmour
Attendance – 18 members: Kim Long, Doris Avery, Christine Burton, Mike Hockley, Dave & Patti Gilmour, Deanne Sinnott, Michael and Jenny Catton, Marta Nettelfield, Shirley Bell, Mary Curl, Paul Medeiros, Lillian Wainwright, Melissa and Mark Mathers, Keith Lawson.

Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.

Minutes: 
Dave: Thankyou everyone for coming. I would like to call this meeting to order and start things off with everyone signing in by typing in their name. I trust everyone had a chance to view last months minutes. Is there any errors or omissions? Is there any questions about the minutes?

Treasurer’s Report – Kim Long:

• February 28, 2020 - Balance - $6984.27
• Debit – Service Charge - $19.00, Paper Statement - $ 2.00
• Credit – New Membership - $45.00
• March 31, 2020 - Balance - $7008.27

Show Committee: Mary, Shirley, Patti, Dave

• Dave: The executive discussed about the current state of affairs and how it impacts the National which was to be this weekend in BC. We will back it up a year as Monika has already incurred expenses for the show before it was cancelled so in 2021 it will be in BC and back east in 2022
• Jenny: That sounds fair
• Dave: It was the only way we thought it could be done considering
• Mary: This would apply to: NOBC’s application to hold the 2021 BCC National at the Erie Shores show also which would move to 2022. correct?
• Dave: Yes that is correct

Programme:  Lillian

• Lillian: number of items posted to the list -- good health items, and a few items non-doggy to help with the boredom of isolation

Publicity:  No Report

Trophy Committee: Shawn – not in attendance  no report

Membership Committee: Doris

• Doris: We received a new member application for Ricky Arruda of Bucherville, QC.  His sponsors Josee Fontaine and Barry Green have been contacted.  If anyone has any concerns, please let me know.

Discipline Committee:  Shirley Bell

• Shirley: Nothing to report

Obedience Committee:  Marta Nettelfield

• Marta: No Report

Awards Committee: Mary, Shirley, Marta, Cindy                                                                                                                                                        

• Mary: For these Annual awards I have no info or dogs nominated: Top sire, Top Dam, Brace, Top Kennel, Obedience Awards
• For Sire & Dam of Merit: I only have two, one of each that have been submitted. - For Champion titles: Only 3 submitted. - For Performance: 7 submitted - For Versatility: 1 submitted
• As the CKC titles reported only goes to July (Current event results are currently unavailable to view due to maintenance and upgrades.) I cannot even source info that way even though I should not have to as members are required to submit their information.
• If you have sent an application for an award or plaques and not received a reply please resend!
• Normally the cutoff date would be past but we will accept applications for a short time.

• You may download the forms and fill in and send or send e-mail to the appropriate address with all the information that the form contains for your dog
• I will post this to the list and to the private Facebook page as well

• Dave: In the confusion of everything going on right now we forgot to post the election coming up.
• All the existing executive are willing to let their names stand. Vice President, Recording Secretary and Treasurer
• Anyone interested in running for one of the positions contact the nominations committee at nominations@boxerclubofcanada.com
• If nothing received by next meeting, we will let the names stand.
• We will post this on the BBCI private Facebook page
• The nomination committee is Doris Avery, Francine Gillanders and Karen Parton
