Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday February 3rd, 2020

The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:02 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – President David Gilmour

Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.

                Dave: As I call this meeting to order I would like to have everyone type in their name for attendance sakes.  Everyone should of had a chance to read the minutes from the last meeting held. Were there any errors or omissions?

• We were contacted regarding a lost boxer in NS. Info posted on FB
• NOBC has applied to hold the 2021 National at the Erie Shores show
• Director on the CKC Foundation Board, as well as the Chair of its Communications Committee. The CKC Foundation is pleased to announce that in 2020, it will award $20,000 in grants to support CKC-registered clubs with health research or community projects.

I am honored to accept the position of Regional Director for Ontario Central.  It will be a great challenge and privilege for me work with all current and future members of BCC. I'm sure that we will have a busy and fruitful time.
 There are quite a few club members in the area and I have started reaching out to them. At this moment I'm happy to share following information:

• Drs. Gloria Bracchetti  & Ernie Perry have certainly had a great year. Their flashy Am GCH BISS Can GCH CinniBon’s She’s The One, CGN ; “Elle” 2019 highlights include :

#5 Boxer in Canada
#2 Boxer Female in Canada
#22 Working Dog in Canada
Best in Specialty Winner @ Northern Ontario Boxer Club
Best of Opposite Sex @ BCC National Specialty
New American Grand Champion

Congratulations on your accomplishments!

• Our family had been busy in 2019. Our fawn boy Ch. Xelascon Edge of Glory, “Cairo”” achieved his Championship from puppy classes, making his dam Ch. Xelascon Bring Me Lady Ever “Dorka” eligible for DOM title and his sire MBISS Am.GChS/CGCh. Shadigee’s Calculated Risk “Kaden” eligible for SOM title.

Caroline, our daughter and Cairo went win Junior Zone Finals and placed 4th at the Junior National Championship hosted by Belleville KC.  At 14 months of age, almost 1.5 hour in the ring with all other young kids and canines, Cairo was a handling challenge to Caroline and her peer who got him at the dog switch part of the competition.   In September Caroline has started her junior year at McMaster University.
The repeat breeding of Dorka x Kaden has produced 10 lovely pups. All are well and happy with their new families. We have kept a flashy brindle girl, Xelascon Fantom of the Opera, who is just being introduced to the fancy. We’re looking forward to having fun with her in the ring.

• My home club, Oakville & District KC, will host a Regional speciality in September.  We hope to see you there. Stay tuned for further details.
