- Note from Shirley: The Doberman Pinscher Club of Canada has drafted a letter to send to the CKC about Cropping and Docking. A copy of their letter was shared with me asking that I forward it to the executive of our club. I personally feel the BCC should get in the ground floor with this issue.
- Lillian noted: There are 2 east coast provinces that have had their vet assoc. pass a ban on these and now are pushing for prov. legislation to ban these
- Motion by Mary Curl: I would like to suggest that Shirley Bell head communication with the Dobe Club and the CKC on this matter
- Paul Wilcox seconded
- Carried
- Lillian s comment: just a quick note... this may take a few $$$ out of our bank to help with the fight
- Erin Pottle commented: I think this is a battle worth draining the bank if need be. In a few short years ...all we may have is undocked and uncropped boxers otherwise. This is a huge battle, and we are fighting against AR propaganda machines who have millions of dollars to support their beliefs. and every day spent not doing anything is a day that the AR`s are out wining and dining the politicians.. they are much better at campaigning than we are...
- Dave commented: Yes, it is a big battle. We're probably all agreed that we'll have to take part in battling the "good fight".
- Several people thanked Dave for a job well done running his first on-line meeting.
Kevin Sergeant moved to adjourn
Patti Gilmour seconded
Motion passed meeting adjourned
