Programme: Lillian
- I am waiting for a program from a homeopathic practitioner - she said she would have the stuff to me this month... will post it then
- Sandra asked about the last programme
- Lillian: it was the CKC directors - and I sent out a request that you question them on their aims / directions they want the CKC to go .. before you vote... as some of them did not have a clue to some of the questions that I had sent them via email
Membership: Patti Gilmour
- Andrea Calverley and Debbie & Steve Rollason are now ordinary members of the Boxer Club of Canada. Their probationary status ended in December. Please join me in welcoming them to the club!
- That's all for membership.
Out of sequence discussion:
- Lillian: for the members in the GTA - there is a town hall mtg with the new CKC director Alan Ewles on 11 Jan at the town of Oakville offices
- Kristi: to do with the meeting with Alan Ewles....he is on a judging panel coming up in the next couple of months too...what are the ethics involved going to his meeting and then entering to him? Is it right? kinda off topic but i want to know how the club feels about it
- Discussion: Summed up by Dave: I think as long as you keep your conversation away from dogs and on the CKC's business I don't see a problem
Discipline Committee: Frank Rouse - No Report
Obedience Committee: Marta Nettelfield No Report
Fund Raising Committee:
- Lillian asked: Mary, book auction??
- Mary: As soon as I can get it together - it has not been a good year here
- Patti: Mary, for fundraising am wondering if some consideration could be given for each of our club's regional directors be given the task to raise some funds in their areas for the club? Just thought it might be easier to do regionally than nationally.
- Sandra: I'd be happy to do a 50/50 draw at the April show
- Patti: Mary, for fundraising am wondering if some consideration could be given for each of our club's regional directors be given the task to raise some funds in their areas for the club? Just thought it might be easier to do regionally than nationally. Maybe each our BCC regions could have a set goal to raise a set amount, e.g. $500.00?
- Patti: I'm willing to work with Irene Waddell to raise some funds from Saskatchewan.Mike: I put in a proposal for fundraising. Is that dead?
- Deb: Would it be possible for each of the Regional Directors to be approached about ideas for fundraising to have their input at the next meeting?
- Mary: Perhaps each director could canvas their area to see what they would like to see in the way of BCC clothing and if they think it would sell or not
- Discussion on whether all of these funds should go to the BCC general fund or if each area should take a portion for a project they deem worthy. Some felt we might get more response this way.
- Mary: No Mike but we just haven't had the time to fully go over it and figure out how to do it
- Mike: My proposal was to do a line of clothing etc for the BCC. All orders would go through the BCC website and a portion of the sales would go to the BCC. Absolutely no cost to the BCC - no stock to be held by the BCC - absolutely no risk to the BCC. We already have the BCC logo digitized for embroidery. With respect to volunteers - I have said I would do everything. the only thing the BCC has to do is set it up on the website so all orders go through the BCC - and that is only so the BCC will know exactly what has been ordered / sold
- Jenny: Maybe we should throw it open to the membership for discussion as we are talking about ways to fundraise
- Sandra: when I was with the Nanaimo kennel club we put something similar together, no web though... just me... almost everyone in the club ordered at least a t-shirt many hats vests and jackets... all this to say I think it’s a good idea
- Anne: I think Mikes idea is good, it is no cost to the club but generates income for the club
- Marta: I think Mike's idea is tremendous
- Mike: I also have another proposal that could help in fundraising and, again, this is a no cost, no stock, no risk, no manpower situation for the BCC. I would canvas members of the club to submit photos etc of puppies, mature dogs, veterans, whatever. I would put these photos on various items including t shirts, clothing etc and a portion of each sale would go to the club or to a rescue organization of the member's choosing
- Mike: The BCC doesn't have to do anything but arrange to take the orders - and again - that is only so no one will say we are accepting orders and not submitting the funds to the BCC
Special Service Committee: Deb Allardyce
- Have not received any nominations for the Special Services Award - so if anyone has a candidate(s) in mind please pass it along!

Old Business
Cindy: Result for By-Law Revision:
- Mike: As this is the first time we voted this way - and I think it is a great idea - will we be able to check to confirm if our vote was received?
- Mary: The auditor has access to the site and the membership numbers are shown there with the votes. He can confirm who voted and what was spoiled etc. I have it from him that you did vote and your votes were counted.
- Some people felt that they did not receive confirmation of voting
- Mary: Confirmation of the online voting was immediate - when you hit the send button - not an e-mail after.
- If you want to know if YOUR vote was received let me know and I will check with the auditor to see if your membership number shows as voted.
Good & Welfare Lillian
- Sent get well card to Bob Verhulst, sympathy cards to Kilner family, Mary Tlucko on death of sister,
New Business:
- Sandra: Rec’d e-mail from someone in BC looking for info... she contacted me as director from the BCC web. I would like to see such info on our website, ie what is a responsible breeder and how to find one, what to look for when buying a puppy ie health testing etc. had to send person to American web and the CKC web for the info.
- Dave: Sandra I think that is something that is going to be looked at in the near future and we will be asking people for input at that time
- Anne: really good idea. do we still have access to the Boxer Breed articles that Ben wrote years ago, most of it still applies
- Discussion – We will have to check with CKC (DIC) to see if we can use the articles.
- Dave moved to adjourn, Cindy seconded. Meeting closed at 9:43 p.m.
