    • Mary: The sponsorship npw depends on how many shows there are.  It is a fixed amount divided. This means that all the specialties need to be noted before January for the coming year

Out of sequence Discussion :

  • Christine: Jenny just called – having trouble logging in. (They did get in at 8:42pm)

    • Dave: Mary and I had posted messages about logging in. You have to use the new link Mary had put on yahoo and go through the process of reinstalling java so that it hooks up with your browser. Even if you have the new software it will not mate up unless you install it using the new link and installing the plug in when prompted.

Secretary’s Note – Notice found after meeting from Add On Interactive (ChatRoom people).  This should mean easier access to ALL members to attend meetings as Java will no longer be required.

            Scheduled Network Upgrades - Sep 19th, 2014

September 12, 2014 at 12:15pm
AddonInteractive will be performing a major system upgrade to  transition to a cloud-based architecture on Friday, September 19, 2014 between 10am and 6pm CDT.

This transition will enable us to more effectively serve our customers by providing our engineers with the ability to quickly add new resources to our network on demand. Many chores that once required hours to do will now take minutes. We will also be able to offer private chat servers with dedicated IP addresses in the very near future; a popular request from our customer base. Most importantly, it will dramatically reduce our power requirements; helping to protect our environment and conserve energy resources without any reductions in service quality.

During the transition, many AddonInteractive services including AddonChat, AddonLiveSupport and our company's web sites may experience downtime periods as long as two hours. Some of your users may also experience "network splits" meaning some users will be connected to the new network while others are connected to the current network. Encouraging users to periodically refresh their browser will help to ensure that they are on the new network.  The current network will be taken offline only after all services have been migrated in full. During this upgrade we will be unable to respond to technical support and sales inquiries via e-mail.

Also during the transition, a series of software updates will be made to our communication servers in preparation for AddonChat v10.0 and the new control panel, both of which have been in development now for well over a year. While there is no launch date yet for AddonChat v10.0, we can tell you that it will be purely web based (no Java required) and we're continuing to work closely with a select group of alpha testers to ensure the final product meets the demands of our customers.

Your patience during this upgrade is greatly appreciated. We ask that you refrain from submitting support requests during this time until the new network has been brought online. As we understand this may be an inconvenience to you and your users, all paying AddonChat customers will be afforded a one week extension to all services on their account, including modules.

Old Business:

  • Sandra: Are we moving forward on Mike’s suggestion re meeting attendance?
    • Dave: No we have not. Would you like to head up a committee to do so?

    • Sandra: I’d be happy to. I'll send an e-mail tomorrow to request committee members

    • Dave: While we are on the topic is there anyone in the room that would like to contribute to this worthy effort?

    • Kim Long: I will

    • Dave: Count me in. This is one of my favorite subjects.

New Business:

    • Christine: The last few meetings we have had poor member turn out.  Do you think it is because members can not log in or members want to be members in name only?

      • Dave: I think a lot of it is the name thing.

      • Sandra: speaking for myself, I often can't get away from work in time to be home for a 5:00 meeting

      • Jenny: I do think a fair number of people are getting turned off by not being able to login and then when they are in they get booted out jmo

      • Dave: I know it is hard for the west coast because of the three hour difference but there is no excuse for anyone east of the Rockies

      • Christine: Maybe we should ask committee members to submit a report if they are unable to attend

      • Dave: That is a good idea Christine

      • Sandra: I have never had trouble logging in... didn't realize this was a problem

      • Discussion was held regarding the proper link to use for logging in and foir using desktop mode with windows 8

      • Dave: I think we need to put out a general call to the membership and find out who has not been able to get in and give these people some guidance. As wll as I will chat with Mary some more and see if we can get some guidance from the software people as well

      • Mary: We got guidance from the software people in the spring - I posted it - If you use the new link and update it works

      • Miles: I just want to say thanks Mary I will find the info and use it next time thanks again

      • Mary: Anytime - just contact me if you are having issues

Secretary’s Note: As the software is undergoing change we may not have these problems in future – see communication from Add On interactive above.

Dave: If there is no new business I move the meeting adjourned.  Kim Long seconded. Meeting adjourned at 9:18 p.m.
Dave: Thx Everyone for taking the time to attend

  • Next Meeting:  October 6th  2014 8:00 p.m. Ontario time
